Are we living in just ENOUGH? The comfort zone, “the I am satisfied with right here?”  Have you ever just wanted to sit and let it be enough.

I have struggled with that.  I know that living ENOUGH is not satisfying, I will get bored and fat.

For me living ENOUGH is taking bird watching rides with my husband and playing a game on my tablet or reading a book, fiction. It is staying up late watching movies and then getting up late in the morning. It is sitting on the porch swing and wasting the day away.

All of that seems reasonable since I have retired.  But I said I would “refire” not just retire.  All those ENOUGH things I can still, do living in MORE THAN ENOUGH but with the discipline of the time spent on the swing or sleeping late and the purpose of getting up and do the MORE.

I want Psalm 92:14 “They shall still bear fruit in old age; They shall be fresh and flourishing” to be true in my life.  In order to “bear fruit” I must move and do more and be what God has called me to.

God has greater purpose than just ENOUGH. He has given us his grace and power to live in more than enough.

Sometimes when we are looking for a major purchase, my husband says, “I don’t want to just settle.” In other words we will keep looking until we find the “RIGHT” one. We looked for land for over 10 years. We wanted 5 to 10 acres. Just when he told the Lord that we would quit looking and would be satisfied where we were, someone called and told us about a property that was just put on the market. Once more, we went to check out a property for sale, but we would not settle for just enough. The land we looked at that day was more than 10 acres, fully fenced, 3 water wells, a new septic system, a pond, and triple barn and a little office trailer with a toilet and sink! It was more than we could ask or think! We made the offer on our first visit and it’s a good thing we did because there were lots of other people looking and wanting it.

It was not just ENOUGH. It was MORE.

Ephesians 3:20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.

What does “more than enough” look like for you?  What is Exceedingly Abundant for you?

For me it is writing devotionals, this blog and email newsletters. It is stepping out and speaking at ladies’ events. It is publishing books on Amazon. It is helping ladies to reach their potential. It is following the Lord where He leads me.

I still get to do ENOUGH, sitting in my swing and going bird watching with my husband.. But if I will be bold and courageous and “do the work” as David told Solomon in 2 Chronicles 28:20 then I will be in the land of More Than Enough and fulfilling the plans God has for me.

How about you?

God has a purpose for each of us. He created you and me for His good pleasure. (Phil 2:3).

Will you join me?  What is God calling you to do? Does he have a purpose for you? It is time to get out of the boat and put your feet to your faith.

I am looking for Open Doors in 2024!  How about you? What doors will God open for you in 2024?

Let’s Open the Doors of our faith and renew our minds with the Word of God.

Let’s Open the Doors of our thinking and focus on God’s thoughts about who we are.

Let’s Open the Doors of fellowship and grow in relationship with God’s people.

Let’s Open the Doors of health and decide to eat healthy and move more.

Open Doors will lead to more than enough and not just settling for the status quo.

It’s time to grow into more than enough!
